DIY ideas for the balcony and garden

Hook magnets are especially versatile for use in the garden or on the balcony, helping you with a mini DIY project to hang items quickly and easily. All you need are suitable metal surfaces such as balcony railings or metal braces. And, of course, a suitable hook magnet. Are you looking for more DIY project ideas for the balcony or garden? By the way, one of our most popular customer projects for those areas is this one: Attach a cat net without drilling.

DIY ideas for the house and flat

As you have seen in the previous projects, it is possible to create practical mounting solutions with the help of magnets. This does apply, of course, not only to the balcony or the patio but also inside the house or flat. Below, we will introduce you to two ideas from our staff members that fit perfectly into the category of so-called life hacks. These are ideas that are easily implemented to quickly solve everyday problems. Are you curious to find out about other life hacks that can be realised with magnets?

DIY ideas for the kitchen

Magnets in the kitchen? Well, of course! With these little powerhouses, different items can easily be attached or hung. For example, use magnetic hooks to attach cooking utensils. Or create your very own magnetic knife block. These and many other fascinating DIY ideas can be found under “customer projects”.

Refrigerator door to which many postcards and photos have been attached with various magnets

Johanna Saxen, Photography/Videos

The all-time classic: A refrigerator door as magnetic board stand-in. Johanna’s tip: Create your own magnets to attach photos and other mementoes.

DIY ideas for the hallway

Magnets are also extremely practical for use in the hallway. If there is no suitable surface available, magnetic paint, for example, can change that. This way, you can create a wonderful picture wall with photos and postcards. Adding a coat of whiteboard paint over the magnetic paint allows you to write on the wall with whiteboard markers. The perfect foundation for a personal weekly planner.

Lots of keys attached to a street sign with magnets

Children’s coat rack created with a metal strip and pot magnets with hooks

Stephan Kirsch, head of marketing & procurement

Wall hooks without drilling: Pairing a self-adhesive magnetic strip with a pot magnet with rotating handle results in a coat rack for kids.

DIY ideas for the bathroom

Magnets are unbeatable in the bathroom too! They help you, for example, to keep everything organised or to hang towels. There are almost no limits to your creativity. The only requirement: a metal mounting surface. If there is none, you can use self-adhesive metal strips, metal tapes or ferrous tapes to create a spot for your magnets. In combination with the binder clips 19 mm from MAUL, even lotion tubes can be kept organised and within easy reach inside your medicine cabinet.
